Papua New Guinea issued this set of six stamps on January 25th, 2008 featuring protected birds. There was one very obvious error: the bird labelled as New Guinea Harpy Eagle was based on this photograph taken in Guyana of the South American species Harpy Eagle (Harpia harpyja). This error provoked a lot of reaction on Stampboards.com.
Another stamp in the issue claims to show an Osprey with the scientific name "Pandion cristatus", the correct name for the Eastern Osprey which should be found on the islands. However, the photograph used was this one, taken in Florida, USA, and therefore actually a Western Osprey (Pandion haliaetus), though the Clements list I use does not recognise this split.
